The Kalinga Hospital Blood Bank is an ISO Certified (9001-2000), licensed Blood Bank, which started it function on 12th October 2000.

We are supplying whole human blood units to our patients for open heart surgery, Advance trauma cases, Neurosurgery, Kidney transplantation and routine dialysis. We are also providing whole blood and its components to the Government and Non-government hospitals and nursing homes of the state. For the last 2 years we are able to provide Blood components like, packed cell, triple washed R.B.C., Platelet Rich Plasma (P.R.P), and Fresh Frozen Plasma (F.F.P) and Random Donor Platelet concentration (R.D.P.) units prepared through most modern technique. Our blood bank provides 24 hours service. We have introduced Gel Technology (Matrix System) for Grouping, Rh-Type and Cross matching since last December 2006, which is the first of the kind in the state of Orissa. Per annum we are collecting and issuing 3600 to 4000 units of Blood after testing with ELISA Reader and using sophisticated recent generation test kits for malaria, Pan malaria. Our Blood Bank is centrally air-conditioned having modern equipments and well trained Technicians and Blood Bank Officers.
